1. Chronic Pain Webinar Series, Part One: What It Is
Chronic pain can affect far more than the body—it can influence mental health, relationships, sleep, daily functioning, work, and overall quality of life. In Chronic Pain Webinar Series, Part One: What It Is, Silva Depanian, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, provides an accessible introduction to chronic pain, chronic pain psychology, and the connection between physical pain and mental health. The webinar explains the important difference between acute pain and chronic pain, including why chronic pain may continue beyond the body’s expected healing time and why pain can remain very real even when medical tests or imaging appear normal.
The presentation also introduces the biopsychosocial model of chronic pain, exploring how chronic pain can affect physical health, strength, flexibility, sleep, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, anger, relationships, social connection, and occupational functioning. Viewers will also learn how the brain and nervous system may become increasingly sensitive to pain and stress over time and why a whole-person approach can be important when understanding chronic pain.
This educational webinar from Avedian Counseling Center is especially relevant for individuals living with persistent pain, loved ones supporting someone with chronic pain, and anyone interested in understanding the relationship between chronic pain, anxiety, depression, emotional health, and relationships.
2. Dating & Social Anxiety
Dating can already feel vulnerable, but social anxiety can make meeting new people, going on dates, communicating openly, and forming relationships feel especially overwhelming. In this Avedian Counseling Center webinar, Associate Marriage and Family Therapists Nicholas Schaub and Sasha Kleinman explore social anxiety and dating, including what social anxiety is, common fears and warning signs, and the ways fear of judgment or negative evaluation can interfere with dating and relationships.
The webinar examines the cycle of social anxiety, avoidance, fear of rejection, self-consciousness, and isolation. While avoiding anxiety-provoking situations may provide temporary relief, repeated avoidance can reinforce anxiety and make dating, communication, and social connection increasingly difficult. The presenters also discuss coping strategies and practical dating tips for people experiencing social anxiety, along with ways friends and family can provide healthy support.
The discussion also introduces Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for social anxiety, including how CBT can help examine anxious thoughts and fears of being judged. Whether you experience dating anxiety, fear of rejection, social avoidance, relationship anxiety, or difficulty feeling confident around others, this webinar provides practical education for understanding the patterns that can keep social anxiety going.
3. Exploring the Manosphere & Looksmaxxing
What is the manosphere—and how can online trends such as looksmaxxing, the red pill, and the black pill affect self-esteem, body image, dating, and mental health? In this Avedian Counseling Center webinar, presenter Nicholas explores the rapidly growing world of manosphere communities, looksmaxxing culture, online masculinity, dating ideology, appearance-based ranking systems, and social media influence. The webinar is designed to help viewers recognize some of the terminology, beliefs, and pressures young people may encounter online.
The presentation defines looksmaxxing and examines how the concept connects with red-pill and black-pill ideology, attraction, dating, masculinity, gender roles, perceived social status, online rating systems, and manosphere slang. It also explores potentially harmful practices promoted online and the role influencers, businesses, and digital communities may play in reinforcing appearance-focused beliefs.
Most importantly, the webinar considers the mental health effects of looksmaxxing and manosphere culture, including perfectionism, obsessive comparison, body-image distress, anxiety, depression, social withdrawal, and self-esteem concerns. Rather than shaming healthy self-improvement, the presentation asks when the pursuit of physical appearance becomes rigid, compulsive, or all-consuming—and what a healthier relationship with appearance and self-worth might look like.
4. How Do I Know if My Partner Is the Right One for Me?
How do you know if your partner is truly the right person for you? Whether you are dating, considering engagement, preparing for marriage, or evaluating a long-term relationship, understanding relationship compatibility, shared values, deal breakers, communication, and long-term goals can help you make more thoughtful decisions about your future. In this Avedian Counseling Center webinar, Raha Shahbazian, Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, explores the questions couples can ask when evaluating whether a relationship supports the life they want to build together.
Webinars Are Educational, Not Therapy
Avedian Counseling Center webinars are provided for educational and informational purposes. Participating in or viewing a webinar does not establish a therapist-client relationship and should not be considered psychotherapy, individualized counseling, diagnosis, or a substitute for professional mental health treatment.
If you are looking for personalized support, our counseling team works with individuals, couples, teens, and families experiencing a range of emotional and relationship concerns.
