Vanessa Claire Chatfield – Program Assistant

Originally from Los Angeles, CA, Vanessa is passionate about matters of social justice and is involved with various service organizations. Vanessa currently attends Boston College and is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

In addition to completing her first clinical rotation at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Vanessa is excited about her remaining experiences including those as a volunteer.  Most recently, she volunteered at an after-school program where she served underprivileged communities in the Boston area.

While in school, Vanessa is a stand-out influencer with her peers as a Campus Ministry small group leader, a first-year nursing student small group leader, a tour guide for prospective students, and as a member of the Appa Volunteers, a program designed to support those living within rural communities. Vanessa is also an Undergraduate Research Fellow which has afforded her the opportunity to write a Literature Review that was selected to be presented at the Alpha Chi Chapter Sigma Theta Tau International Annual Spring Research Program in the spring, focusing on disordered eating habits of Middle Eastern women.

In the future, Vanessa aspires to begin her professional nursing career as a labor & delivery nurse and move into a career as a Family Nurse Practitioner.  Her passion is to continue focusing on ways she can provide care to those without adequate access to resources, and strives to eradicate healthcare disparities within our communities.
